..........................Did he really ask you if you’re a Jew?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Then there was that awkward moment afterward when he asked something like, “was… that.. a wrong question or…?”
I would have paid $100 just to see your facial expression in that moment.

The dude from Fun? And you’re kissing his ass about the horrible music he makes? This is the beginning of the end .This is Metallica’s Black album and their haircuts all rolled into one. Who’s next the Kardashians?

Jack Antonoff? WTF?

David July 17, 2014 at 9:48 pm

I bet no one above me has paid for anything Marc Maron related and still feel the need to bitch and think they matter.

Favorite question of interview was what was guitar teacher Van’s hair like LOL.
Also re: tonight’s episode: Here to rep’ for Depeche Mode. They are amazing live performers.

Cheers!

Everyone: be nice and have a good weekend.

I guess you have to pay for the privilege of pointing out that some of the guests lately have been ridiculous and the interviews subpar. I’m glad I’m not paying for these.

Doogie Howser July 18, 2014 at 3:38 am

Lay off Marc, you guys. Obviously he’s trying to get Lena Dunham to appear in his show. A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.

David July 18, 2014 at 5:10 am

So many idiots here. First off, Doogie. Lena has been on WTF. Welcome to the podcast; now sift through the catalog of guests.

John, actually, it makes you sound like a pathetic mooch for complaining about a FREE podcast not meeting your standards. Also, recent guests like The Amazing Johnathan, Gabriel Iglesias, Roseanne Cash, Dave Huntsberger, Romany Malco, Josh Groban, Billy Gibbons, Vince Vaughn, and RuPaul have gotten a considerable amount of appreciation and praise. And not just from the WTF community, but from people who review podcasts, too.

Marc, I was, above all actually impressed that you handled this man-child as well as you did in the interview—-holding his feet to the fire and pointing out how stunted world-view was.  Really, really crappy guest to interview though.  Just a child wallowing in an adolescent worldview.

I know that the misogyny spikes on this board whenever you interview a woman, because of this I didn’t post after the Lena Dunham interview.  But please know that your tone drastically changes when you interview male guests and that if you had shown the self-indulgent and simple Ms. Dunham the same amount of respect and held her to the rigor you held Antonoff (a match made in heaven, no?)  her interview would have been much better.

I think you could forestall many of the misogynist opinions by actually being as aggressive and insightful with your female guests as you are with your crappy male ones.

Please, please, let’s stay away from the non-comedians for a while.

So many idiots on here. Jealous much are we? Marc, fantastic work as per normal. Keep it up bro, you are the man.

Doogie July 18, 2014 at 9:07 am

Dave, you dumbass, I meant the TV show, obviously.

The Dude July 18, 2014 at 1:18 pm

Terrible person to interview…Marc has had some amazing guests before and it makes sense that there would be some bad ones here and there…I just wanna say this is one of the best podcasts out there and I appreciate everything you’ve done Marc.
P.S. I am a paying member but it shouldn’t matter as long as you’re constantly listening to the show.

stephen July 18, 2014 at 2:01 pm

Not too sure why everyone is complaining. I hate the band Fun and it’s clear that the guy is on the show because Lena Dunham was just on and they’re dating so she probably helped in setting up the interview. But who cares? The guy is popular and maybe this helps Marc reach a demographic he normally doesn’t. Fun is terrible and Jack Antonoff is a dolt, but you can just skip the episode! I hope Marc continues to have on whoever the hell he wants because that’s part of why Marc is great.

John July 18, 2014 at 2:10 pm

David: thank you for policing these comment sections. I’m sure Marc and the other gladhanding-backslappers really appreciate all you do. Compare the last 200 episode to the first 200-ish. The difference in quality is enormous.
