The movie that Todd Barry’s going to be in is Vamps.
Judging from the imdb page it looks like Sex & the City only with vampires… but Todd and Malcolm McDowell are in it so I’ll probably see it anyway :/

stacey October 21, 2010 at 2:44 pm

ok, it’s my first time trying to download on my phone, but all I get is a stream.  Help me Brendan!

toobigtofail October 21, 2010 at 4:35 pm

Love the podcast.  Love Sarah Silverman.  Wow, what a combination!

Brad in Ohio October 21, 2010 at 4:44 pm

How long until Marc is dating the intern?

aaron October 21, 2010 at 5:01 pm

Stacey…hold down on the link and you should be able to select save link or something along those lines, depending on your phone.

Travis October 22, 2010 at 5:02 am

Hey Maron, you should try to get Kerri Lendo on the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OB8D5YOKuM

GuruOne October 22, 2010 at 5:23 am

My thoughts exactly, Brad….. LOL

Joe Tily October 22, 2010 at 6:27 am

An interesting, easy and relaxed conversation. What more could you ask for. Great interview Maron, you are keepin’ it real. WTF - The choice of the discerning listener.

Tamsies October 22, 2010 at 6:43 am

Marc, I know you’ve known Sarah for years, but I’m surprised you haven’t read her book. It’s very very good. But I’m more surprised you didn’t know she was a bedwetter.f

Mike October 22, 2010 at 3:39 pm

Probably the least favorite podcast of all Marc has ever done. First off, in all podcasts, Sarah makes no effort to entertain the listener. She comes across as nice, but not very interesting to listen to. But my main issue is with Marc. An intern could have asked better questions. He purports to be her friend but he did not even look at her book prior to the interview. Even worse, he had no idea that she ever actually wet her bed. Even a casual fan knows this about her. It shows a lack of interest or preparation. Crap he watched the horrible “Funny People” before he interviewed Apatow. The least he could have done was rifle through the book before talking to her.

gurthang October 22, 2010 at 5:15 pm

+1 on the intern comment… sad really.

Also, this interview was only slightly amusing because Marc makes it really awkward for the listener by being so obviously obsessed with the fact that he hasn’t slept with Sarah and clearly, to me, still wants the opportunity.  Maybe he just wants to know he could have, or can, but doesn’t really want to.  No disrespect to his leading lady Ms. IForgetHerName.  Get over that shit Marc… I had a hard time separating that undertone from the rest of your chat and found it difficult to finish my breakfast.

Al October 22, 2010 at 11:36 pm

Great interview. Sarah is actually a good storyteller; I wouldn’t mind seeing some of that incorporated into her act.

It’s amazing that she is your contemporary. She looks slightly older than 30!

Crate&Trauma October 22, 2010 at 11:46 pm

shut up Mike

freaking nerds and their little ocd complexes

Chris October 23, 2010 at 6:47 pm

Good interview.  I didn’t mind Sarah.

Solomon Raabe October 23, 2010 at 11:40 pm

I would never want to put myself into the group of people that I’d describe as a “hater of haters” since the haters usually aren’t putting too much thought into their first response to something that was meant to entertain them, But…...
Since I heard Marc’s reaction to Schimmel and Geraldo’s deaths, I think I’ve really begun to see Marc as another person, and not just some self-involved entertainer who’s only letting us in on his quirks because it’s part of his stage persona (like Bob and Tom, or some other early morning radio personality who is only “neurotic” or “crazy” when it can become a talking point or bit on their show). Sometimes I get a little annoyed at Marc’s tendency to be a bit of a name dropper, and I really only realized my next point after reading Mike’s comment…that even though Sarah is clearly a star fucker and Marc mentioned there being a list, I’m aware of 2= Jimmy Kimmel and David Cross…and the interviews I’m thinking of while creating a negative opinion of how Marc interviews people, are Charlie Rose or Dan Rather- something where the questions are decided on ahead of time and weeded through and cut down for time or the “too much info” factor; while the unrehearsed nature of Marc’s podcast is one of it’s most endearing qualities, you’d think that after being a name dropper and building up the hype of your next show, you might put together an idea of the questions people might be curious about. I’m not perfect or “done”, I’m still growing and I totally believe that when you give advise you are implying that you have learned all there is to know about a thing, enough to tell others they’re doing something wrong (and since they don’t deserve the same amount of time it took you to learn that thing)...anyway I know I’m just as full of it as the next guy as evidenced by my next complaint= I’ve heard Marc use the same selling tactic to advertise for his main contributors, a bunch of times= the thing Marc does where he says “shit, I’ve got to get this Ap for my phone”, go ahead and do it…

ziggy October 24, 2010 at 5:17 am

Boring and disappointing. Far too much insider talk about people you jointly know but no listener cares about.

It was like standing waiting for your friend to finish talking to someone he once knew and bumped into on the street.

Sarah comes off as quite nice and smart.

Crate&Trauma October 24, 2010 at 7:47 pm

Thanks for reminding me why I hate the internets so much.

Tom Owens October 26, 2010 at 1:22 am

Weird edit at the end of the Sarah Silverman interview. What was cut out? Watergate-babies want to know.

RogerT October 26, 2010 at 8:35 am

I really enjoyed this podcast. Thanks!

Brendan October 26, 2010 at 12:30 pm

@Tom Owens

All WTF interviews are edited for time and pacing, but I’m struggling to remember anything being edited out of the end of the Sarah interview. Maybe it was mic noise because Sarah was holding a mic and trying to page through a book at the same time. Sometimes those bumps and clicks sound like edits.

But let me know where you’re hearing it. There’s nothing I hate more than a bad edit, especially if I’m the one who did it.

Steven Doyle October 27, 2010 at 12:29 pm

I always liked Sarah Silverman as a performer; she seems like a nice person, too.  It’s baffling how Comedy Central treats some of its most interesting shows.

Clay October 28, 2010 at 4:40 am

Mike & Ziggy… shut up, guys.

Good job Marc, as always.

Ziggy October 29, 2010 at 4:18 pm

Sorry Clay for having some discernment and not thinking every single show is “always” the best ever. I would think they’d prefer honest feedback.

Still my favorite podcast along with TAL, if that’s kiss-ass enough for you wink

GM October 31, 2010 at 6:12 pm

Re: awkward edit. It’s at the end. It ends really abruptly.

Brendan November 01, 2010 at 12:54 am

@GM

Wish I could tell you that there was some juicy stuff we had to cut out of the show, but that’s just how Marc ended the interview.

G January 21, 2011 at 8:49 pm

Ah, I love this.

Melanie March 15, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Whenever people discuss having kids, the desire to do so, I can’t escape an eye roll.  I just feel I can come up with an endless list of things that would be more fulfilling to do.  But I really dig the way Sarah Silverman tackles this topic.  She says she would consider adopting kids “when it’s all she wants” and I like that.  My issue is usually rooted in people ending their lives by having kids and she’s saying when she’s “early grandma” age and the shit she really wants to do has been taken care of.  I can get behind that.
