DISCLAIMER: I think that Pauly Shore is a good dude, and this story is in no way a slam against him.
Also, non-comics have no idea who the hell Rick Ingraham is,
BUT my favorite REO Speedwagon story (you even have a “favorite REO Speedwagon story,” Marc) is something that Rick Ingraham says occurred years ago when he was opening or middling for Pauly in Ohio. REO Speedwagon was offering free tickets to whatever town Rick and Pauly were also performing in (yes, even I’m laughing right now). Anyway, as you have probably foreseen, Rick warned Pauly about this development, and Pauly brushed him off with something like, “don’t worrrrryyy about it buuuuddddyyy. REO Speedwagon fans and my fans are two completely different things.”
So… cut to them performing that night in front of 15(?) people… obviously, it’s even funnier when Rick tells this story

This was really good. You should bring back Jon Wurster for a long interview.

That was such a great show!  You were definitely on top of your stand up game, and those emails…wow. Those really made me laugh, which confused the hell out of everyone else on the bus I was taking. I’m glad to know that I’m not the only odd fan out there. Better odd than even, I always say. It’s a verbal tick that cannot be stopped. (Yeah, you’re right, that was bad.) It was also very entertaining to listen to you guys grill each other, not roast exactly but grill—in a very quick witted kind of way. This was a great conversation and something about it being live made it that much better.  Finally, I loved your attitude of “I’m sick but it’s not going to stop me from doing this…” I’m so glad it didn’t. That said, I hope your cold, flu, or terrible cold/flu viral folk duo get their eviction notice and leave your system soon.  Great podcast! Feel better! Other exclamatory statements!

It took me a little while, but I’ve become a big fan of The Choctaw.

Im from argentina. Cultural imperialism really works down here (thats why I speak english), all good US basic cable tv gets here eventually, tough 6 months later, if its good (and thats why I pirate*). I tell this just so my story makes sense. Marc got me into podcasts, something that ‘s not even happening here right now, then thanks to cracked dot com I saw an ad for how did this get made, and paul scheer and jason mantzoukas caught my attention, cause I was a big The League fan, and having the WTF experience I gave HDTGM a try, and once I was over all their episodes I decided to give the main podcast of the Earwolf radio (Comedy Bang Bang) a try, and since then scott aukerman became a comedy god for me. Marc is great, and personally I relate to him greatly, for all of his self-loathing shit, but CBB is pure comedy gold. I understood why the Wacky Bing Bongs wanted to steal that from Scott.

*For legal reasons, shows like Conan (huge fan) don’t let me see the uploads in the website even 5 months after posting the stuff, so I have to watch it on beststreams or or that… Birthday Boys is a great show, but I think it’ll never get to Argentina. Even Maron won’t get here (Louie hasn’t got here yet, and arguably it’s a better show**, or at least has been running longer than Maron)

**Just saying that its a better show because Louis CK was my second stand up hearing expirience after Bill Hicks, and cause Hilarious really made me loose my mind (though I was predisposed to that***).

***Just as I was predisposed to suicide before reading Sandman and how that got me into a drug inflicted nervous breakdown.

Im drinking fernet cola: thats Fernet, preferably Branca, with coke. One third of the former, two of the latter. Great drink, really popular here in Argentina, and a favourite of Be Wayne’s butler in the Nolan series (pay attention to what alfred orders when he is in Italy). Its a good drink, cause it started as a shit inducing remedy, mixed with coke, which started as a godknowswhatshit inducing remedy, but it gets you drunk as much as keeps you awake.

Well, cheers
