I listened to this podcast as I was exercising, and I switched between it and a different comic’s podcast—a comic who has a show on Comedy Central… at midnight… on Sundays….
At one point this comic said (to no comic’s surprise who is reading this message) “it’s all about Brody” in all seriousness.
I realized…. “my god… he IS The Will Ferrell Character. This guy *IS* the living embodiment of That Guy.”

Marc, there used to be an animal-in-this-year’s-movies award tandem to the Oscars. It was called the PATSY ( Picture Animal Top Star of the Year ). It ended in ‘86 but really should be brought back (project idea?). There’s the Pawscars but they’re not really the same.

Great interviews skills here with Will.

This was a great episode! Will Ferrell is an interesting and very grounded person. I like how he can go into performance mode but then come right back to a still funny but very down to earth guy with a grounded perspective on things.

I think you’re right, Marc, in that the FCC seems to be more intimidated by comedy that hits home than almost anything else.

Thanks so much for doing this podcast and all of the WTF podcasts. I’m learning so much. Cheers!

How much fun was that!? And, am I the only one who thought Will was Canadian? Ya, probably.

Pastor Gas!  I worked as a dub tech for a videotape duplication company that had the account for that.  We usually got an order for 1,000 of those around Christmas and I have probably seen it over 200 times and it never got old.  I have not thought of that in years and the timing could not have been better since it is almost Christmas and for me it has become a lost Christmas tradition.

Will Ferrell’s guy at 71 still does piano gigs when he can get them.

Irving Fields is 98 and still plays 5 nights a week at the restaurant a few doors down from the apartment house where he lives.

Well I wanted to listen to it but the audio is gone! WTF is right!

I loved this episode!  I was really concerned it would just be Will Ferrell doing his “Will Ferrell” bit, but I was pleasantly surprised.  Very enjoyable.

I used to play soccer against Will when he played for Uni.  He was pretty damn goad in goal.  Very intense into playing his position.

Marc’s schoolgirl giggling throughout made this almost unlistenable.
