Like Spock and Jesus had a baby.

Fantastic!

Can’t agree with the fucking first Marc, always gives me a bad impression of the woman….... perhaps that’s why your relationships haven’t worked out (not being mean just an observation). Love the show, pretty good interview

Karl Marx October 21, 2013 at 10:38 am

Marc, it is hypocritical that you are favoring tort reform given your leftist politics. Filing in evil Texas, no less! I guess things have changed now that you’re a small business owner earning money off the backs of the poor.

The brief Bruce Bickford mention reminded me of the great documentary about him, Monster Road. His claymations are MIND MELTING…definitely worth YouTubing some of ‘em.

I enjoyed this episode. Moon rocks! Everyone else here is a dick.

do you think marc fucked her after this podcast?

J R October 22, 2013 at 4:16 am

You know,  I came here with a really good point about relationships and some other stuff, but I started eating onion rings and then forgot about it. I loved this interview, I hate myself, goodnight everybody!

Garage Joe October 22, 2013 at 10:37 am

Lovely episode, Marc. I’m not prone to using “lovely” too often, but it was sweet hearing you and your good friend, the ever charming, down-to-earth and smart Moon Zappa, ponder life and such.

smitty October 22, 2013 at 5:03 pm

hey brother- I want to be easy on you, given your recent relational breakup; but your cynical comedic riffing gets tired quickly for me. you remind me of that desperate annoying kid in school, that looks at the convoluted side of everything. for decades now, too much comedy in America, has been about the blowing up of the obvious easy to reach low hanging fruit. going to the default/primal, “isn’t that situation or person fucked up,Ha Ha Ha” ; is pretty unimaginative. this is not about morality here,it’s simply about shit that’s been exhausted. if you’re going to riff on the yoga teacher as a default career failure, and expect me to find that funny;sorry,i need a little bit more of a workup . pointing to the obvious[no offence yoga instructors] , and expecting me laugh is not going to do it for me.

“Trust Fund” cmt had good intent ,but fell flat.  I cringed for the both of you. it was towards the end and seemed to change the energy in the room… ouch..  hope you guys are okay… maybe you you f’k'd it out afterwards , maybe not..  best to the both of you, i like you both.

J October 23, 2013 at 2:02 pm

Interesting as usual.  I had no idea that Zappa basically invented iTunes back in the 1980s smile

PS There are some seriously mentally ill people posting comments here (& via Facebook).  You guys should get your meds adjusted.

J R October 23, 2013 at 2:36 pm

I’m glad you told those mentally ill people what’s up. They really should fuck off.

Christopher October 23, 2013 at 2:55 pm

The episodes with women that Marc seems kinda into always fascinate me. Takes the podcast into a whole different level as instead of the usual biography-type interview, it’s just Marc BS-ing with the guest and trying to make them laugh. Interesting window into the garage.

Loved intellect in the Moon Unit interview.  Zappa must have made a whole lot a money for Mama Gayle to be steadily adding sf on to her Larel Cnyn compound.  Moon glossed over the amount of wealth that her mother has to be in control of (and of course her eventual inheritance.)  BTW none of us learned about mortgages from our parents.  I dated a L.A. real estate developer’s son for four years in college and mortgages were never topic of conversation.

I fear for those that presume that “normalcy” is anything to shoot for.  if you can’t let your fucking hair down and get a little loosy goosey, then what the hell is the point of it all. shit that into your anally retentive posting pants, mates…

Andrew October 25, 2013 at 7:50 am

Moon Unit Maron has a nice ring to it…I’m just saying!

Leroy October 25, 2013 at 7:10 pm

Smitty is an asshole. Marc wasn’t telling jokes he was conversing. As a member of the audience you have a right to an opinion, but what do you know about low hanging fruit when it is going over your head?

smitty October 26, 2013 at 6:15 am

Leroy if i’m an asshole,i don’t want to contemplate what that makes you in comparison. it doesn’t matter if Marc was or wasn’t telling a joke;i was addressing his humor, you idiot. it’s irrelevant if it was during a conversation or an isolated joke. dude, plug your brain into a socket and get some IQ pulses. your shit is so lame and off the fucking hook that i feel sorry for you. I hope this is not your A game, because if it is,you had better learn to grow some veggies upside your dumb ass, fucked up lob-sided head.  btw- I wasn’t even putting Marc down for gods sake. the pendejos, who think that making med references is either witty or creative ,need to get a notion of where someone is coming from, before shooting off imbecilic pubescent shit, that purports to be funny or insightful. it’s neither nor.

Internet Police October 27, 2013 at 8:26 am

Hey brother, I want to be easy on you, given your obvious mental illness and profound retardation… Nah, fuck it.  Shitty, or whatever your name is, you’re an asshole.

Bull October 27, 2013 at 12:07 pm

Marc and Moon seem kind of perfect for each other.

smitty October 28, 2013 at 1:23 am

Hey Internet Police.. your Mother!!  Fuck you!!

Piss October 28, 2013 at 7:16 am

Dear smitty. Please let me anal fuck the anger and bitterness out of you. I’m deficient of girthiness, so it won’t hurt. You’ll feel better, I promise. Love you man.

Buster Brown November 08, 2013 at 11:31 pm

That woman’s voice was absolute heaven.  And that laugh?  Never before have I had a fantasy about talking to a woman on the phone for hours.  And not in 3 or 4 million years would I have expected Moon Zappa to be the first to inspire it.  Finally, Marc, I suspect you don’t have a clue about how much she drew out of you, especially relative to how little you drew out of her - all while she had you convinced you were both paying it out equally.

THAT is pretty close to the perfect woman.  If she’s got legs up to here, I just may have to take up stalking.

Mark Duwe November 12, 2013 at 11:33 pm

Moon is the best, love her laugh. Your interviewing skills are really getting good. I know you just want to talk to people long enough that they forget it’s an interview and your just having a one on one conversation. Good job, Marc.
