bravo marc. fantastic conversation. 100% solid.  I want to read Merrill’s book.  Marc you may think a perpetual sadness is the fuel for your work, but in fact it’s your honest enthusiasm & love for comedy and deep conversation that is driving your most significant impact on the world.  Being less sad will not harm this.  It’s OK

Quick question: what was the George Meyer piece you (Marc) were refering to on his mention; something about a contribution to Markoe’s “mommies” piece?

How funny is Merrill Markoe?  During the Letterman bribery scandal in 2009, when it was revealed Dave was cheating on his wife, Markoe was asked to comment and she did, in one sentence:  “As you can imagine this is a very emotional moment for me because Dave promised me many times that I was the only woman he would ever cheat on.”

You are so great on NPR. As in really charming and clever and made me want to drive 250 miles to see you in Seattle. But sorry, turning into you and all it starts with is fuck. How trite, puerile, and boring is that? George Carlin is dead and he wasn’t even funny. You are. Do better.

A friend gave me one of Merill Markoe’s novels for my birthday a few years back.  The name of the novel is “It’s My F—-ing Birthday” and I loved it.  Thanks for having her on the show, Marc.
