WTF Podcast

Episode 150 - Paul F. Tompkins

The very funny Paul F. Tompkins, host of the Pod F. Tompkast, joins Marc in the garage. They find out they like each other more than they imagined. That’s probably because they find out they ARE more like each other than they imagined. Also, Marc recounts his tragic trip to the Mall of America.

Slipkpie February 17, 2011 at 3:37 pm

Great filth show, Marc. Loved the filth interview

Jimmy James Jr. February 17, 2011 at 7:01 pm

Loved today’s show. PFT always has the most affable and conversational style. He listens well, is quick on his feet, and of course, very funny. Thanks for friending him, Marc.

JIMMY JAMS February 17, 2011 at 8:59 pm

FUCK YES GALLAGHER SHIRT !!!

milly February 17, 2011 at 9:38 pm

Paul: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Marc: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You mirrored Paul! You must like him, or something. Sounds like your podcasts heal old or imagined wounds. Right on.

Tom February 18, 2011 at 1:34 am

Excellent! Another great guest. WTF is phenomenal.

Snake February 18, 2011 at 2:07 am

Is there an interview where you don’t start it by saying “me and this guy didn’t get along, but now we see eye to eye and it’s all love?” Well, except for Gallagher. You should only say something when you have always gotten along with them, but I doubt your mom will ever be a guest.

eric February 18, 2011 at 2:31 am

PFT on WTF? OMG.

Smashy February 18, 2011 at 2:49 am

Great show, Marc. Paul’s been a favorite of mine for years, so the two of you coming together is a boon. I’ll buy a t-shirt from you someday.

Dan February 18, 2011 at 3:01 am

I think those Gallagher shirts might be more trouble than they’re worth. The old man seems like type who might be prone to frivolous lawsuits from time to time. And Marc isn’t even his brother.

ziggy February 18, 2011 at 6:04 am

I have never heard of him and, while he seemed nice, the show just wasn’t interesting. And far too much talk about someone’s family. It was like your example of being left with someone’s friend outside and having to make pleasant conversation.

Crate&Trauma February 18, 2011 at 7:45 am

Gallagher shirt. WANT. NOW.

Passing Shot February 18, 2011 at 12:55 pm

“No” to the Gallagher shirt. Not that it wouldn’t be funny, but remember “Nerd Cock”? Don’t take another bath on shirts that are too “insider-ey.”

roly February 18, 2011 at 3:26 pm

Yeah, it was funny hearing PFT mention PTA on WTF.

Joe Tily February 18, 2011 at 3:42 pm

“. . . it’s effortfull . . .” Another great conversation dude - good work. Here’s a better t-shirt slogan: JESUS LOVES MY FILTH SHOW.

Felipe February 18, 2011 at 5:56 pm

What a brutally pathetic e-mail from the christian at the beginning of the show, hahah!

Miles February 18, 2011 at 10:08 pm

LOVE Paul F. Tompkins, can’t get enough of him - great interview. And speaking of Conan, isn’t it about time for Paul to make some latenight appearances??? And where the hell do I get a copy of “You should have told me”??? Yeah, the Gallagher T-shirt would be great, but as another poster pointed out, he’s too much of a fuck-head to let it go without suing.

Scott February 18, 2011 at 11:56 pm

This podcast is the best.

I really enjoy that podcasters are FREE to cross-promote
without fear of losing audience!!! It’s perfect!!!!!

I don’t even really mind the commercials…as long as the host is the pitchperson and it’s clever without being excessively manipulative.

Joe Daquino February 19, 2011 at 12:13 am

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Crate&Trauma February 19, 2011 at 3:40 pm

Everyone loves that Gallagher line

So, okay, I’m a little slow, but I finally figured it out. The two patches have nothing to do with being ‘the smoking guy’ or with any other mental or physical addiction to nicotine per se, do they? The endless snus/gum/patch dependence is all about your damn weight fixation, isn’t it??? You just want to keep your metabolism tweaked! Some seriously demented ballerina territory you’re in there, Marc. Momma Maron knows not what she wrought. Really nice interview, this one, even with the already mentioned Best Show ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’ rat-a-tat punctuating every other sentence. It’s not our host’s fault that he absorbed the contagion, folks—just listen to a few clips of Tompkins and Scharpling on microphone and you’ll hear that they practically speak their own dialect of english, relying on ‘yeahs’ like tribal languages that use clicks. This listener finds it much easier to take from Tompkins, incidentally.

Eric February 24, 2011 at 6:30 am

Do you just squirt dish soap on your dishes and rinse them off? A wash cloth (or some other cleaning tool) is an ESSENTIAL part of the bathing exercise. Scrub that dead, dirty, decaying skin right the fuck off, please! Otherwise, you might as well forego the soap entirely and just rinse off with water and put on some deodorant/cologne on.

hay February 27, 2011 at 1:43 am

ain’t nothing changed.

Laura Jordan June 19, 2011 at 5:16 pm

It’s June, I just now listened to this. It’s the first WTF ep I’ve ever heard, I thought I’d start with a comedian I really really like, Paul F Tompkins is one of my heros. I’ve heard great things about WTF and they’re all very true. I can’t wait to listen to more.

JJ September 06, 2011 at 9:39 am

I seem to remember Marc being the host of Short Attention Span Theater, with Paul F Tompkins as the elevator operator guy….

However, I can’t find any evidence of this on imdb, and the guys in the interview don’t mention SAS Theater as their first meeting. WTF?

Tish November 23, 2011 at 6:15 am

I really nedeed to find this info, thank God!
