I’ve been a fan of the Bob Ducca character since I heard it on Comedy Death Ray Radio, and I was so pleased to see that not only did it kill, it kind of was a perfect character to interact with Maron, especially in the live setting; also, ever since the Dice Clay episode, I keep thinking of Pepitone as the alt Dice, since they both have that Brooklyn cadence. It makes me want to see Eddie actually do a character called “alt hipster Dice” (or a more clever name). That would be hilarious.

Marc Maron and Bob Ducca together is comedy fucking gold

“What’s you favorite gland?”
“I’d have to say the pituitary… it controls your hormones.”
“...barely.”

Oh, crap. I guess I’m just one of those youtube commenters that simply quotes the video.

This episode killed. I think I’ve listened to it four times already. It made my week! Hysterical. Loved everyone on it.

The audience seemed to deflate during Aparna’s slot, and never really picked up again until Ducca got back on the mic. Don’t know why, Aparna’s jokes from a fan were pretty god damn funny.

Seth Morris is a fucking genius. Since Marc is on public radio now, he and Nathan Brantley (http://www.earwolf.com/episode/morning-becomes-oddly-racist/) should do an episode.

Love you, Marc, but “jap,” “jappy”? As the legendary comic Come On Now would say….....“Come on now.”

JLowe August 16, 2011 at 5:49 pm

Seth Morris had me laughing sooo hard; I’m certain I was annoying my fellow commuters on the bus. Bob Ducca is the funniest character/routine I’ve encountered in years. Don’t be jealous or resentful, Marc - what made it so funny was how he played off of you and your guests. The next 100 is off to an excellent start!

Bob Ducca killed - he totally stole the show . . . . and yes . . . ‘Jap’ and ‘Jappy’ . . . really Marc?
That’s how you endear yourself to your Asian fans? . . .  sheeeesh . . .

Buddy August 18, 2011 at 5:19 pm

JAP stands for “Jewish American Princess” in this context.

Nothing to do with Asians.

Louis August 18, 2011 at 6:05 pm

I hope you guys complaining about the JAP digs aren’t being serious…

Eddie needs his own full episode at this point. He’s awesome.

Fuck, why haven’t I heard of this Bob Ducca guy before?  KILLLLLLLLLED IT!  Marc you must do a one on one with this guy, he is hilarious.

ann August 28, 2011 at 2:33 am

I never knew Bob Ducca before, but he just got himself a new huge fan!
